Basic Home Legal:

Covers legal costs up to £25,000
Provides legal advice
Helps with disputes through letters and negotiation
Does not cover court action or employment disputes

Family Legal Protection:

Covers legal costs up to £100,000
Includes everything in Basic cover
Also covers:

Employment disputes
Legal costs for taking a case to court

All legal costs are paid directly to the solicitor.
