What is breakdown cover?
Breakdown cover is a service that provides help if your vehicle breaks down. If the issue can’t be fixed at the roadside, your vehicle can be taken to a garage. Depending on your level of cover, you may also get help with onward travel or overnight accommodation.
What is the Basic Breakdown? What does it cover?
Basic Breakdown provides essential roadside assistance and recovery. You are covered for: Roadside assistance Recovery to a nearby location Up to 2 callouts per policy period Onward travel within 10 miles (£3 per mile after this) Cover for any insured driver using your vehicle (with permission) Cars, vans, and motorcycles (up to 3.5 tonnes) Additional services: Wheel changes, punctures, or burst tyres (£35 excess applies) Not covered if no locking wheel nut key is available
What is not covered on Basic Breakdown?
This cover does not include: Labour beyond 1 hour Assistance at home or within 0.5 miles of your address Replacement parts or materials More than 2 callouts per policy period Storage charges Vehicles stuck in mud, snow, sand, or water Campervans or vehicles used for living accommodation Incorrect fuel issues
What are the restrictions of Basic Breakdown?
Maximum claim limit: £500 per breakdown Excess: £20 per callout Recovery limited to 10 miles (£3 per mile after) Cover limited to vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes Response times may be longer if pets are in the vehicle
What is Enhanced Breakdown? What am I covered for?
Enhanced Breakdown includes all Basic cover, plus additional benefits. You are covered for: Unlimited callouts (no excess) Running out of fuel or battery charge Onward travel to your destination (up to your policy limit) Wheel changes (no excess) Home start (breakdowns within 0.5 miles of home) Misfuelling (recovery to a garage)
What is not covered on Enhanced Breakdown?
This cover does not include: Labour beyond 1 hour Replacement parts or materials Broken or damaged glass Campervans or vehicles used for living accommodation Loss or damage to personal items Intentional or malicious damage Vehicles used for hire, racing, or competitions Key replacement or reprogramming Storage charges Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes (4.25 tonnes for electric vehicles)

Ultimate Breakdown includes all Basic and Enhanced cover, plus: Misfuelling repair costs (not just recovery) Loss of keys assistance (transport to a repairer or spare key location)
