What is comprehensive plus?
Comprehensive Plus is an add-on that enhances your Driving Other Vehicles (DOV) cover. Without this add-on, DOV usually only provides third party cover. This means damage to the vehicle you are driving is not covered. With Comprehensive Plus, you may be covered for damage to the vehicle you are driving, on a fully comprehensive basis, when using it occasionally or in an emergency.
What am I covered for under my Comprehensive Plus?
With this cover, If you have the Driving Other Vehicles benefit and are using another vehicle on an occasional or emergency basis, you may be covered for: Accidental damage to the vehicle you are driving Loss or damage caused by fire Theft of the vehicle This cover only applies if all policy terms and conditions are met.
What is not covered under my Comprehensive Plus?
This policy does not cover: Claims above the £20,000 limit Mechanical, electrical, or breakdown-related faults Damage caused by using the wrong fuel Injury, death, or damage to third-party property (these are covered under your main motor policy) Driving a vehicle without: Valid Driving Other Vehicles cover The owner’s permission Vehicles that are leased, hired, or rented Vehicles without valid comprehensive insurance
Are there any restrictions on my Comprehensive Plus?
Yes. To keep your cover valid: Your motor insurance payments must be up to date Your main motor policy must remain active If your motor insurance policy is cancelled, your Comprehensive Plus cover will also be cancelled.
Are there any obligations to my Comprehensive Plus policy?
Yes. This policy is only valid if: You have an active motor insurance policy Your policy includes the Driving Other Vehicles benefit Your vehicle is roadworthy and insured Your cover will no longer apply if: Your vehicle is written off Your vehicle is stolen and not recovered Your vehicle is not roadworthy In these cases, you will not be insured to drive another person’s vehicle under this policy.
