Home Emergency cover helps pay for the cost of urgent repairs if something sudden goes wrong at your home, such as a burst pipe or boiler breakdown. These are situations that: Make your home unsafe or unsecure, or Risk causing further damage The cover is designed to provide a temporary or emergency fix, not a full or permanent repair.
What is Basic Home Emergency? What am I covered for?
Basic Home Emergency covers essential call-outs for urgent household issues. Covered emergencies include: Plumbing (e.g. burst or blocked internal pipes) Drainage issues Home security (locks, doors, windows after damage) Pest control (wasps and hornets) Roof damage (temporary repairs after storms or falling objects) You are covered for: Up to £250 per callout (including VAT) Up to 3 claims per year 24/7 assistance £25 call-out fee applies per claim Basic Home Emergency will not cover your boiler. You must have the Ultimate Home Emergency cover if you wish to make a claim for your boiler
What is Enhanced Home Emergency? What am I covered for?+?
Enhanced cover includes everything in Basic, plus additional protection. Additional cover includes: Guttering and soffit repairs Pest control (rats, mice, grey squirrels) Electrical failure that makes your home unsafe Alternative accommodation You are covered for: Up to £750 per callout (including VAT) Unlimited callouts per year (subject to policy terms) Up to £200 for hotel stays Up to £50 for travel costs Enhanced Home Emergency will not cover your boiler. You must have the Ultimate Home Emergency cover if you wish to make a claim for your boiler
What is Ultimate Home Emergency? What am I covered for?
Ultimate cover includes all Basic and Enhanced benefits, plus: Cover for breakdown of your main heating system (when this results in loss of heating or hot water) Cover limits remain: Up to £750 per callout Unlimited callouts per year (subject to policy terms)
What is not covered in Home emergency cover?
This policy does not cover: General exclusions: Non-emergency situations (e.g. minor leaks, lost keys) External pipes or shared drainage systems Damaged caused by trying to find out where a leak is coming from (like pulling tiles up in your bathroom) Secondary facilities (e.g. if you still have a working toilet) Heat pump systems Wear and tear or poor maintenance Routine home maintenance Damage to domestic appliances (e.g. fridge, freezer)
What is classified as a home emergency?
Examples of home emergencies include: Your roof is leaking after a storm Your home is insecure after a burglary Your only working toilet stops functioning A pipe bursts inside your home and cannot be controlled A wasp nest is found within your property boundary Your boiler has broken down (and you have Ultimate cover)
What is not classified as a home emergency?
A broken toilet when another one is available Lost keys A broken appliance (e.g. washing machine) Minor issues like dripping taps Roof issues due to poor condition or maintenance Damage that does not make your home unsafe or uninhabitable
