It can support you and your family with issues such as: Property disputes Contract disputes with third parties You’ll also have access to a free legal advice helpline, where you can speak to qualified advisors.
What is personal injury?
A personal injury is when you suffer physical or mental harm because of someone else’s actions or negligence. In simple terms, it means you were injured and it wasn’t your fault.

What is the difference between Basic Home Legal and Family Legal Protection?
Basic Home Legal: Covers legal costs up to £25,000 Provides legal advice Helps with disputes through letters and negotiation Does not cover court action or employment disputes Family Legal Protection: Covers legal costs up to £100,000 Includes everything in Basic cover Also covers: Employment disputes Legal costs for taking a case to court All legal costs are paid directly to the solicitor.
What is not covered under my Home Legal Cover?
This policy does not cover: Disputes that started before your policy began Claims involving vehicles or road traffic accidents Disputes between landlords and tenants Will or probate disputes Cases that do not have a reasonable chance of success
Why has my claim been declined?
Your claim may be declined for a number of reasons, for example: You have Basic cover but want to take a case to court You are trying to claim for an employment dispute under Basic cover You are trying to claim against someone such as a council or landlord Your case does not have a reasonable chance of success If your claim is declined, we will always explain the reasons clearly.
What do you mean by ‘reasonable chance of success’?
This means your case is likely to succeed, usually with at least a 51% chance of a positive outcome. For example: Recovering money you are owed Successfully winning a case in court
What if I disagree with your opinion about how successful the case will be?
If you disagree with our assessment, you can get an independent legal opinion. You will need to pay for this initially If the new opinion confirms your case has at least a 51% chance of success, we will refund this cost We will consider this opinion when reviewing your claim, but we are not bound by it.
